Anxiety/Depression

Have you experienced a recent loss of a loved one or pet?
Has it been hard to get out of bed?
Have you dreaded seeing your friends or family?
Have you acted in ways of anger or rage?
Have you felt pressure in your head, chest, and body as if you were unable to breath?
Do you experience self-doubt, fear, or guilt?
Do you ever feel like what you do is never enough?
Anxiety and depression can feel unbearable at times. Some days getting out of bed can feel like climbing a mountain. Sometimes we are in a group of people and we feel like we become the smallest person in the room haunted by heavy breathing or intense thoughts. Regardless of how the anxiety or depression is showing up it is important to recognize that you don't have to figure it out alone and there are ways to get support. Often we convince ourselves that isolation is better because it is easier to hide than risk taking the judgment or task of others.

Therapy allows us to look at the underlying truth of whatever is causing the anxious or depressed feelings. Often there is a trauma or past experience that has been triggered in current relationships both external and internal. Together we will gently explore whatever is there and find ways to bring healing and balance. Feelings are not permanent they will pass but it is hard to understand this in the moment of stress.
